5 Month update

I had to take Tanner to the doctor this week. He seemed “off” and I was right. He has a ear infection on the right side. Now he is much better after being on bubble gum flavored antibiotics and ear numbing drops.

In other news, its hard to believe he will be 5 months old tomorrow! And he weighed in at 19lb 12 oz this week! What a eater! He LOVES his organic pears, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and carrots! He gets super excited when he is put in his high chair!

Mame took him shopping yesterday and decked him out for summer! Lots of shorts and tops. He is ready for the lake, country club or working out! LOL

TOOFER!

Tanner has a tooth coming in! I can see a small white dot underneath his little gum on the right side. Poor guy is not too happy. Hopefully it will break through soon!

Tanner's First Trip to Florida

We went to Florida last weekend, Tanner’s longest road trip to date. We left on Friday, 2/16 and drove to Valdosta, about 5 hours from home and got a hotel. We were 5 miles from Florida, yet when we woke the next morning there was ice on the car!

We made the rest of the trip and arrived in Deland about 11 am. We were staying at Kristina’s (my step mom) sisters house, which is next door to Kristina’s parents, where she, dad and Cap stayed.

Tanner stayed up a good deal on Saturday and at one point Great Grandpa Bob. Grandma Kristina, Uncle Cap, Tanner and mommy went on a walk, which T fell asleep on.

That night we went out for Mexican and then home we went and off to bed.

Sunday Tanner stayed the whole day with Grandma (KC) while Mommy, Daddy and Grandpa went to the NASCAR race. All told he did great!

Monday we made the entire trip back home, about 9 hours.

Tanner turned 4 months old Monday! Time sure does fly!

He went to the doctor and here are his stats:

3 months 4 months

16lb 3oz 17lb 10 oz

24 in long 25.5 inches long

The new doctor is very pleased with Tanner’s progress! He was really impressed that Tanner sat UNASSISTED Sunday at my mom’s!

Speaking of progress, I just looked over and Tanner has rolled over again! What a big boy!

First Christmas!

e left December 21 for the drive to my mom’s in Georgia. It was about a 5 hour drive and Tanner was a real trooper. About the last 30 minutes he had had it with the truck and car seat. I cannot say I blame him!

We got to my mom’s about 2 pm EST on Thursday and proceeded to unload a seriously packed truck! We had brought Tanner’s co-sleeper and swing in addition to presents and luggage! Tannner and I slept in the guest room on the first floor, so I would not have to navigate two flights of stairs in the middle of the night for feedings.

The rest of Thursday we just relaxed, and my friend Sarah came over to visit. We had dinner and were all in bed by 10 pm.

Friday my mom and I left Tanner with his daddy and we went shopping. Saturday was the big visit day! Mom and I left about 10 am and went to visit The MacKenzie’s, The Merritt’s, the Phillips’ and then went to Cherry’s house and Sherry came over. We had a nice visit there and ate lunch. Then it was off to see SANTA!!!

We had a private visit with Santa, as he is our old next door neighbor! By this time it was 2:30 and Tanner was getting a bit tired of getting in and out of the car, be handled, etc.

We headed back to mom’s and put Tanner down for a nap.

Christmas Eve we hung around the house. Tanner hung around in Mame’s arms! Christmas Day Tanner slept through the opening of presents, but he got some GREAT things! We had a nice turkey dinner that night and also loaded the car.

We left mom’s early Tuesday morning and came home!

Tanner's First Stroller Ride

We took Tanner on his first stroller ride today! Jerry went and got a umbrella stroller and we went to the park at the dam. Tanner seemed to enjoy the walk. We stayed out about 20 minutes. I am sure the fresh air was a nice change for him since he is almost always inside. I think we will try and do that more often as the weather permits. We will take it to Georgia too so we can go on walks there.
